The first ever workshop on Low temperature thermoplastic was concluded successfully at National Hospital Department of Surgery Auditorium on 15th June 2010. This new initiative was introduced by Health Care Division of PCL Solutions in collaboration with the Ministry of Health. This program was well accepted and recognized by the medical fraternity and was commended for striving to launch new technologies into the health care sector. This well attended workshop saw all government sector Occupational Therapists attending with great enthusiasm. The program was sponsored by ORFIT Industries in collaboration with PCL Solutions (Pvt) Ltd, the sole distributor for ORFIT Low Temperature Thermoplastics Sheets in Sri Lanka.
Dr. Anil Dissanayake, Director of Youth Elderly & Persons with Disability graced the workshop as the chief guest.
The Occupational Therapists were given a thorough training on both theory and practical knowledge whilst the Second session of the workshop was concluded at the Sri Lanka School of Prosthetics and Orthotics – Ragama. This too was a well attended session with Prosthetics and Orthotics from all parts of the island including some members of the Sri Lanka Army joining this program. Brigadier Samarathunga, Director – Rehabilitation of Sri Lanka Army, graced this session as chief guest.
The seminars was conducted by Mr. Mukesh Doshi, Regional Distributor for Orfit Industries who is a professional Orthotist and Prosthetist, who had been in the field for over 10 years.
The participants were awarded certificates by the Ministry of Health.
